I’ve been dragging my feet on this little project. I’m too easily frustrated lately and I don’t want to throw anything against the wall just yet.

After a long search, I finally found someone willing to part with the 100mm helicoid threads for the Focomat. It’s coming from Germany and I really really hope I can make it work.
I see no evidence that anyone involved with making Amélie was responsible for this.
I went into the darkroom this morning to test a new safelight bulb and made a handful of 5x7 prints while I was in there. Darkroom prints are special. Not only because of how they look but because of what they are.
I need reminding often enough that I pinned it to the board.
D’ya ever feel like you deserve more Likes? Whenever I start to feel that way I want to delete my accounts.
My dad’s garage is like some sort of art installation. This wall is a Dali within a Dali.
Defrosting the little fridge I use for film.
Once I stopped worrying about making perfect, “archival-quality” prints, darkroom work got a lot more fun.
Reynolds doing the only thing Reynolds knows how to do is fine, but man I hated that kid.
Paper nerds: I would like to try lever arch binders but I only see them in A4. Is there such a thing as lever arch in US Letter size? Also, do you find them better/easier than 3-ring binders?
I love Nic Cage, and was worried that making the Nic Cagiest of Nic Cage movie was a bad idea, so I was happy to see this today. I can’t wait!
I was hoping I could use a brighter safelight in the darkroom, so I bought a random red light bulb from Amazon. I ran a 5-minute test for light-tightness. As you can see, it failed miserably 😆. The entire sheet should be white.
I’ve been having a ball printing from some old negatives. I made these last night (from 2003).
Sometimes I abruptly change my Emacs theme to trick myself into thinking I’m trying a new app
Still frustrated by current point-and-shoot film camera prices. Here’s my B&H Order for a Stylus Epic in 2004.
I suddenly don’t feel like “Blogging”. There are things I’d like to write about but can’t bring myself to sit here and put more than a sentence or two together. So, I don’t. I’m fine with just the wiki and “micro” blogging for the moment.
I started today by revamping my Org mode config so now I have every possible tweak to my tasks and projects and journals and notes. I then spent this afternoon writing detailed notes and tasks in my notebook because I need both I guess?
Interesting how my initial reaction after developing film is often “Darn, it’s grainy and not sharp!” but then a week later I love it. With digital, anything that’s not perfectly sharp and clean is junk and stays junk.
Well that was beautiful.
